1/4 | CUP | Boiling Water | ||
1/2 | CUP | Molasses | ||
3 | CUP | Cake Flour | ||
1 1/2 | CUP | Walnuts - fine chopped | ||
1 | TSP | Salt | ||
1 | TSP | Baking Soda | ||
1 | TSP | Ginger | ||
1/8 | TSP | Cloves - ground | ||
1/4 | TSP | Nutmeg | ||
Cream shortening with brown sugar. Add water to molasses. Sift together dry ingredients, add alternately with shortening and molasses. Chill. Roll into strips 1x3. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350F for 12 minutes.
